Sanok Rubber Company awarded a grant under the FENG programme
Sanok Rubber Company has received a grant from the European Union for the project titled “Development of innovative rubber compounds based on devulcanized waste for use in the production of body sealing systems for the automotive industry”, under the European Funds for a Modern Economy programme – action FENG.01.01 SMART Path.
The project is being implemented to strengthen the company’s potential and introduce innovative solutions.
The main objective of the project is to develop and implement an innovative EPDM rubber compound containing at least 15% devulcanized material, while maintaining the highest quality standards and compliance with automotive industry norms.
Total project value: PLN 37,973, 721.17
Amount of EU funding: PLN 14,136,364.52
The project consists of two complementary modules: R&D and Innovation Implementation.
As part of the R&D module, innovative EPDM rubber compounds with added devulcanized material obtained from production waste will be developed. The devulcanized material will be produced in-house by Sanok Rubber Company from waste generated during the production of body sealing systems.
Within the implementation module, a company-owned building will be adapted to establish a production and storage hall with full technical and social facilities. A pilot line for grinding, separating, and devulcanizing waste will be installed, and production of the new EPDM compounds with devulcanized material will be launched.
As a result of the project, Sanok Rubber Company S.A. will introduce a new generation of body sealing systems with a sustainable chemical composition that meets the highest standards of the automotive industry.
The recipients of the project’s outcomes will be international OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and TIER1 suppliers (component suppliers to OEMs).
